The Sun
Have you ever seen
anything in your life
more wonderful
than the way the sun, every evening, relaxed and easy,
floats toward the horizon
and down into the clouds or the hills, or rumpled sea
and is gone-
and how it slides again
out of the morning blackness
every morning on the other side of the world
like a red flower
streaming upward on its heavenly oils
say, on a morning in early summer, at its perfect imperial distance-
and have you ever felt for anything
such wild love-
do you think there is anywhere, in any language,
a word billowing enough for the pleasure
that fills you, as the sun
reaches out as it warms you
as you stand there empty handed......................

Lovely, lovely! We have one of those birdsong books (Songs of 250 North American Birds, or somesuch); got it at a rummage sale, if you can imagine. It's wonderful.
P.S. Lilla is my kid of gal -- I like to stick my face in the bowl and just clean up, too. Also, I want her wardrobe. Can you make it in my size??
Oh wonderful Sabrina...how exciting Summer is breaking forth in all it's greenness and glory. How good to be outside!
and yes I agree where can I find that little cotton looking number in my size?
isn't it amazing how those first few buds on the trees and those little flowers unfurling can bring so much hope and joy. i am a lover of winter but at the end, i am still amazed how how beautiful spring can be.
enjoy your warm days :)

The sun may be out, but the water that Rowan is dipping his toes in looks soooo cold. Bring on the Summer!
